Ford County board approves consent agenda and claims; resident raises road condition concern

At the Feb. 17 meeting the Ford County Board of Commissioners approved the consent agenda and claims for payment and heard a public comment about a township road.
Chairman Gary Thomas moved to approve the consent agenda, which included meeting minutes and a health-department grant application; Commissioner Chris Boys seconded and the board approved the consent items 3-0. Commissioner Boys then moved to approve claims totaling $875,591.75; Commissioner Shawn Tasset seconded and the motion carried 3-0.
Chairman Thomas introduced Michael Brown as the county's new Landfill Director; the transcript notes Brown has more than 26 years with the county but does not record a formal appointment vote in this meeting.
During public comment Chuck West of Richland Township asked the board to address the poor condition of Kenneth Road, saying the route "is in need of repair, when it rains it is almost unusable" and requested periodic rock placement. Commissioner Tasset advised Mr. West the road is under township jurisdiction and provided him contact information for Township Clerk Terrence Stefan.
