Ford County OKs MOUs for local organizations, approves Raceway Park pit repairs

Ford County commissioners on Feb. 2 approved five memorandums of understanding for organizational funding, reappointed two members to the Community Facilities Advisory Board (CFAB), and authorized repairs at Dodge City Raceway Park.
Assistant City Manager Melissa McCoy presented five MOUs covering organizational funding for Dodge City Roundup, Inc.; the Kansas Teachers Hall of Fame; the Ford County Historical Society, Inc.; the Dodge City Area Arts Council, Inc.; and the Young Guns Association. The board approved all five MOUs on a 3-0 vote.
McCoy also recommended reappointing Josh Roesener and Kristen Winter to CFAB for second three-year terms; the commission approved the reappointments 3-0.
Kevin Israel, director of construction and facilities, presented cost estimates of $98,230.00 for repairs in the pit area at Dodge City Raceway Park. The board approved proceeding with the repairs on a unanimous vote.
These items were presented as part of the county administrator's report and moved without recorded opposition. The commission handled the organizational funding agreements and the Raceway Park repairs together with other routine agenda items; staff said implementation will proceed under department oversight.
