The Washington County Board of Commissioners approved a multi-item consent agenda and took personnel actions following a closed-session meeting on Sept. 8.
Commissioner Sexton moved to approve the Consent Agenda, which included approval of minutes, tax refunds and releases, Riverlight Transit safety and Title VI documents, Resolution 2020-021 supporting NCACC food-system resiliency, budget amendments/transfers, Proclamation 2020-22 (9/11 Day of Remembrance), Resolution 2020-023 (CRF Interlocal Agreement) and Resolution 2020-024 approving Agape Health Services' application; Commissioner Johnson seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
Later in the meeting Commissioner Riddick moved that the board enter Closed Session under NCGS §143-318.11(a)(6) for personnel; Commissioner Walker seconded and the motion carried unanimously. After returning to open session, the board authorized County Manager Curtis Potter to hire a second Administrative Assistant to work on projects and grants from the same applicant pool as the currently advertised CMO Assistant. Commissioner Walker moved the hiring authorization, Commissioner Sexton seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.
The meeting recessed to Sept. 21, 2020 at 6:00 p.m.
