The Washington County Board of Commissioners received departmental updates during the April 5 meeting and approved finance items included in the meeting packet.
Republic Services Municipal Services Manager Chris Wilson and Operations Manager Pat Carldelle reviewed holiday pickup schedules (six observed holidays) and described procedures for missed pickups, including a second‑day service and customer reporting. County Manager Curtis Potter said the county is working to route related citizen calls to the landfill.
Dave Peterson, Senior Regional Director for Trillium, described outreach to Medicaid recipients about managed‑care changes and said the State mailed notices; he encouraged commissioners to help publicize plan‑choice messaging. Health Department Administrator Vickey Manning described recent vaccine clinics and use of social media to promote last‑minute clinics; staff used small extra allocations of vaccine to reach residents.
Tax Administrator Sherri Wilkins said Washington County performs revaluations every eight years and that notices would be mailed with a 15‑day appeal period; she estimated some solar farm properties could increase about 5% but that overall changes would be modest.
Finance Officer Missy Dixon presented budget transfers and amendments in the packet; Commissioner Ann Keyes moved to approve the budget amendments and transfers, Commissioner Carol Phelps seconded, and the board approved them by unanimous roll‑call vote.
