Pittman said the Flood Damage Prevention Ordinance had been approved by the State and staff had used template materials; he also noted formatting and date inconsistencies that need correction. County Manager Curtis Potter advised that staff would attach a cover sheet summarizing edits when the ordinances return to the board.
Chair Bill Sexton and several commissioners asked whether variances and board‑of‑adjustment duties should remain with the commissioners or be delegated to a separate Board of Adjustment; Pittman suggested leaving the status as‑is until 160D changes are complete. The board agreed to wait for cleaned‑up ordinance texts and to place them on the Consent Agenda at the next meeting rather than approve them at the April 5 session.
