Charlotte County hires Pearson’s Appraisal Services for reassessment; new values effective 2025

The Charlotte County Board of Supervisors on June 12 approved awarding the county reassessment contract to Pearson’s Appraisal Services as part of the county’s six-year reassessment schedule.
Purchasing Agent Heather Brown told the board the last reassessment occurred in 2017. Supervisor Anthony Reeves moved to hire Pearson Appraisals at a rate of $23.00 per parcel; Supervisor Garland H. Hamlett seconded the motion and the board voted unanimously to award the contract. Brown said the per-parcel price covers reassessment of all parcels, handling of appeals, photographing properties, verifying 911 addresses, and clerical/data entry work. Updated property values under the new contract would take effect July 1, 2025 if Pearson’s is awarded the contract.
The motion carried with all members present voting aye.
