Anne Stevens, an extension agent, told the fiscal court the Greenup County Extension Service saw more than $150,000 in farmers market sales last year and plans to reopen the market for the 2026 season on May 9; applications are being accepted.
Stevens also outlined 4‑H camp plans (May 26–29; registration deadline May 1) and highlighted a new community‑arts pottery studio in downtown Russell operated in partnership with the Edge Business Center. Laura Poland, consumer‑sciences agent, described the Advancing Kentucky Together initiative and a GrowWell Greenup program the extension will run with UK HealthCare, the health department and local partners to address chronic‑disease prevention and healthy living.
Court members thanked the agents and moved to accept the report into the record. Details on program budgets, staffing and enrollment capacity were not discussed at length during the meeting.
