Items reviewed included the 2024 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant application, a $313,288.87 Cisco support contract renewal, Capital Project Amendment No.25CPA022 and related Guaranteed Maximum Price authorization for the Sheriff’s Training Facility, multiple public health budget amendments, and engineering contract awards for sewer utility projects.
Separately, the board suspended the rules and authorized Chair Nida Allam to sign the Certification and Approval form for the Durham‑to‑Roxboro Rail Trail Great Trails State Program grant application after a motion by Commissioner Wendy Jacobs, seconded by Commissioner Heidi Carter; the motion carried unanimously. The board also appointed Vice‑Chair Nimasheena Burns as Durham’s voting delegate and Commissioner Wendy Jacobs as alternate for the North Carolina Association of County Commissioners Legislative Goals Conference; that motion, moved by Commissioner Heidi Carter and seconded by Commissioner Wendy Jacobs, carried unanimously.
