Residents praise police training, thank council for deer culling and press for clarity on trailer rules

Several residents addressed council during the public-comment period March 27.
Susan Alexander of Rochelle Boulevard encouraged other residents to take the Citizens Police Academy, calling it "excellent." Leonard Rock of Ackley Boulevard thanked council for recent deer culling efforts, saying he had seen 14 deer weeks earlier and none in recent days. Michael Prall of Denison Boulevard asked about enforcement of rules for commercial landscape trailers; Council President Tom Rounds replied that recreational-equipment rules are before council that evening and that commercial-equipment restrictions would be discussed in a forthcoming work session.
Council and the mayor also informed attendees of two recent deaths: former city employee Marilyn Snyder and service employee Ricky Maggard. No formal council action was taken during public comment; questions about commercial trailers were directed to staff for future consideration.
