Sheriff reports 56 inmates and staffing gaps; judge says new subdivision rules near completion

During department reports at the June 10 Burleson County Commissioners Court meeting, Chief Rios of the sheriff's office reported the county jail held 56 inmates — 46 men and 10 women — and said the department still needs to fill three positions: a school resource officer, a dispatcher and a jail position.

Judge Keith Schroeder reported on behalf of Environmental Officer Jody Tillery that the office issued six new septic permits, received three complaints and responded to two animal calls. Albert Ramirez noted that LPC intern Haley Nichols, supervised by an MHMR supervisor, is assisting at the Burleson Health Resource Center. Angie Jones from the 911 office reported she created a sign for a cardboard recycling trailer project; the sign was referenced in the attachments to the minutes.

County auditors told the court they are finishing up tax refunds and are working with outside auditors. Commissioners offered brief precinct updates: Commissioner Vincent Svec said Precinct 2 is working on shredding projects; Commissioner Robert "Bobby" Urbanosky reported that Precinct 4 completed the final coat on County Road 412.
