Burleson County commissioners approve consent agenda, subdivision exception and tax refund

Burleson County Commissioners Court on June 10 unanimously approved a series of routine actions, including adoption of May minutes, budget amendments, a property quitclaim, a subdivision exception, a tax refund and the deputation of a new deputy.
County Judge Keith Schroeder opened the regular meeting at 9:00 a.m. in the Burleson County Courthouse in Caldwell. The court approved the consent agenda on a motion by Commissioner Vincent Svec, seconded by Commissioner Robert "Bobby" Urbanosky. The consent items included adoption of the May 2024 minutes; budget amendments for Other Expenditures, Environmental Enforcement and Record Management Fund 37; and acceptance of $230 in donations to the Burleson Health Resource Center. The motion carried with all members voting aye.
After a closed executive session with legal counsel, the court voted to approve a quitclaim for property located in the old Lyons Township on a motion by Commissioner Dwayne Faust, seconded by Commissioner Urbanosky.
Commissioners approved a subdivision exception for Truitt A. Reynolds for property at 7072 Highway 36 S following a motion by Commissioner Svec and a second from Commissioner Faust. The court also approved an $11,474.62 refund for a property tax overpayment to WHW after a motion by Svec and a second from Urbanosky.
The court certified the 2024 Burleson County road mileage for unincorporated areas on a motion by Commissioner Faust, seconded by Commissioner Svec. Commissioners also approved the deputation of Charles Price Sleeth, Jr. as a Deputy Sheriff on a motion by Commissioner Faust, seconded by Commissioner Urbanosky.
Before adjourning, commissioners authorized payment of county bills after a motion by Commissioner Urbanosky, seconded by Commissioner Svec. The meeting was adjourned following a motion by Commissioner Faust, seconded by Commissioner Svec; all motions passed by unanimous vote.
