Sheriff reports 53 in county jail; county officials note staffing vacancies and sales‑tax dip

Elizabeth Rink, a representative with the Texas Department of Public Safety, announced that Burns was promoted to corporal. Election Administrator Dorothy Oliver reported early voting had begun for city and school elections.
In the auditor’s report, the county received $98,476 in sales tax in April, a 6.7% decrease from April 2023. County Judge Keith Schroeder also reported that the extension office remodel is progressing following a recent meeting with the Beaver Creek Development Board.
