The Rock County Board of Commissioners audited and approved claims at its April 1 meeting but withheld payment to one vendor pending additional documentation.
County staff presented audited claims covering general, road, library, inheritance and E911 funds. Line items included employee salaries of $31,083.08, a Jag Grant/radios payment of $20,034.64 and E911 payments totaling $10,935.05 (combined line items shown in the claims list). After review, Commissioner Faye Smith moved, and Commissioner Colby Sybrant seconded, approval of the April 1 claims with one exception: payment to Niobrara Valley Consultants was held because the board requested an itemization of expenses before issuing payment.
The motion to approve claims with that exception passed unanimously. The minutes do not record an estimated timeline for the vendor to provide the requested itemization.
The board’s action authorizes payment for listed claims except the Niobrara Valley Consultants invoice, which will remain unpaid until staff reports an itemized expense breakdown to the commissioners.
