Rock County OKs one-year natural gas contract, orders courthouse AED replacement; sheriff's license-reader grant tabled

Deputy Clerk Crystal Sell presented options for the county’s natural gas contract and the board voted unanimously to accept a one-year option with Symmetry Energy on a motion by Chairman Hollenbeck, seconded by Commissioner Smith.
Earlier in the meeting A. Grant raised that the Automated External Defibrillator at the Road Department had expired. Commissioners discussed moving the courthouse AED to the Road Department and buying a replacement for the courthouse; on a motion by Hollenbeck, seconded by Sybrant, the board approved replacing the courthouse AED. The minutes do not show a vendor or price for the replacement.
Sheriff Ben Shelbourn joined the meeting later and reported Emergency Management had applied for a grant to buy a license-reader for the Sheriff’s Office and that Rock County would receive two devices if awarded. The board tabled the matter until the next meeting; no vote on acceptance of devices or grant details was recorded.
All actions in these items were recorded as unanimous in favor; the minutes do not include contract dollar amounts for the gas agreement or procurement details for the AED purchase.
