Rock County assessor reports higher assessed values, reminds commissioners of compliance and zoning meeting

TJ Ellermeier, Rock County Assessor, told the board on May 20 that assessed residential values are at 93% and agricultural land is assessed at 70%, and he noted the State mandates ranges of 92–100% for residential and 69–75% for agricultural land.
"The assessed values for residential is 93%, the State mandates 92-100%. Ag land is assessed at 70% & the State mandates 69-75%." Ellermeier said the county must be in compliance with state statute. He also reminded commissioners that the next Zoning meeting will be held at 7:00 p.m. on May 28, 2025 at the courthouse.
No formal action was taken at the meeting on valuation changes; the remarks were presented for the commissioners' information and to note compliance obligations under state law.
