"Ben also received an invoice from Region 26 for the license plate readers that will be reimbursed with grant money when received," the record states. Commissioner Faye Smith moved and Chairman Wade D. Hollenbeck seconded a motion to approve payment of $7,537.40 from the Inheritance Fund for the two readers; the county will replenish the Inheritance Fund when grant funds arrive. The motion passed by unanimous roll call vote.
The board reviewed detailed claims across multiple funds. By motion of Commissioner Colby Sybrant, seconded by Commissioner Faye Smith, the board approved the May 20, 2025 claims with the exception of the Sandhill Equipment claim; the vote was unanimous.
The board also moved into a short closed session at the request of Deputy Sheriff Jacob Gardner to discuss a county official; the session ran from 11:52 a.m. to 12:04 p.m. and the minutes record no action taken afterward.
The meeting adjourned and the next regular meeting was scheduled for June 3, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. in the commissioners room of the Rock County Courthouse.
