During its Aug. 5 session, the Rock County Board of Commissioners approved the Clerk, Clerk of the District Court and Sheriff fee reports for July by unanimous roll-call vote. Later in the meeting, the board audited and approved a detailed list of July claims, including routine payroll, vendor invoices and capital purchases.
The claims list recorded a $95,000 purchase from Sandhill Equipment for a Kubota M7 tractor among many other line items (payroll, utilities, repairs and professional services). Commissioner Colby Sybrant moved to approve the July 15 claims, Commissioner Faye Smith seconded, and the board voted unanimously to carry the motion.
The minutes indicate multiple departmental claim lines were audited (General, Road, Preservation/Modernization, Library, 911 Emergency Equipment) and approved without recorded dissent. The board also scheduled a special budget workshop for Aug. 15, 2025, to review budgets that had been presented and tabled earlier in the meeting.
