At its Jan. 20 meeting, the Rock County Board of Commissioners reviewed applications from local banks and investment pools and approved four resolutions (2026-1 through 2026-4) naming Sandhills State Bank, The Tri-County Bank, NPAIT of Lincoln and NFIT (Union Bank & Trust) as county depositories. The motions passed on roll-call votes with all commissioners voting in favor.
The board approved Lake Mac Appraisal's contract for appraisal services for 2026 at $1,600 after a motion by Commissioner Colby Sybrant and a second by Commissioner Faye Smith. The board also reviewed fee reports for offices including the clerk, register of deeds, district court clerk, library fines and sheriff fees and approved the reports; the board agreed it will follow state auditor and IRS mileage rates if mileage changes.
County claims for January — covering payroll, vendor payments and departmental expenses across general, road, library and other funds — were audited and approved on a unanimous roll-call vote. The board's acceptance of depositary resolutions and claims completes routine fiscal housekeeping for the start of the year.
