On Jan. 7 the Monroe County Board of Commissioners approved Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) sub-recipient allocations totaling $375,840 for 2026 and State Food Purchase Program allocations totaling $279,220.
The CSBG distribution (M-2026-13) included funds to Family Promise of Monroe County ($76,000), Pocono Area Transitional Housing ($42,000) and Pocono Services for Families & Children ($55,000), among others. The board recorded the county total as $375,840 and listed allocations to multiple local agencies providing rental assistance, supportive services and administrative support.
The State Food Purchase Program allocations list Bushkill Outreach ($20,000), Pleasant Valley Ecumenical Network ($50,220), Pocono Mountain Ecumenical ($46,500) and Salvation Army pantry and soup kitchen services ($65,000), among other local recipients, with a county total of $279,220.
Commissioner Laverdure moved and Vice-Chairman Parker seconded the motions; both were carried. County staff and the Community Services Administrative Board recommended the allocations; the Grants Manager was also authorized to sign related grant documents elsewhere on the agenda.
