Summary
Cindy Ebbert of the Dillon Ranger District announced she will finish her tenure at the end of May; the district plans a full closure of Meadow Creek trailhead and trail May 15–June 14, then weekday-only closures for the remainder of the summer, likely shifting traffic to nearby trailheads.
Cindy Ebbert, who announced she will finish her tenure at the Dillon Ranger District at the end of May, told the Summit County Open Space Advisory Council that the Meadow Creek trailhead and trail will be fully closed from May 15 through June 14, seven days per week. After June 14, Ebbert said the trail and trailhead will be closed Monday through Friday for the remainder of the summer season.
Erica Duvic, who introduced herself as having worked at the Dillon Ranger District for 18 months, said she will take over some of Ebbert’s responsibilities moving forward. County and OSAC staff thanked Ebbert for her public service during the meeting.
Ebbert told the council the Meadow Creek closures will likely push additional traffic to North Tenmile and Lily Pad Lake trailheads, and staff flagged possible impacts to parking and trailhead capacity at those locations. The council and staff discussed coordinating with town partners to manage shifts in visitor use.
