Miner's Run HOA asks county about removing trees on County open space and Firewise work

During the public-comment portion of the July 2 meeting, Dan Bailey representing the Miner's Run Homeowners Association said the HOA borders Summit County open space between Wildernest and Mesa Cortina that contains dense lodgepole stands and parts that have been clear-cut. Bailey said the HOA has been working with Anna Olsen to pursue Firewise certification and has scheduled a community workday for July 17 to reduce fuel loads.
Bailey asked the council about the process for removing trees on County-owned open space near the HOA's property boundary. Katherine King of OST provided contact information and offered to coordinate follow-up between county staff and the HOA.
OSAC took no formal action at the meeting on the request; staff follow-up was the indicated next step.
