The Butler County Board of Supervisors approved county claims for the period July 1–31, 2024 and acknowledged receipt of several manure management plan short-form annual updates during its Aug. 6 meeting.
Supervisor Greg Barnett moved and Chairman Wayne Dralle seconded approval of the claims; the motion carried on unanimous 'ayes.' The claims listing presented to the board includes a broad set of vendor payments and, among the larger recorded entries, Campbell Insurance Group ($373,380.39) for insurance, Bruening Rock Products ($222,640.39) for rock and related materials, and Wellmark Blue Cross/Blue Shield ($120,684.12) for health insurance premiums. Other notable claims include Ziegler Inc. ($17,757.14) and BMC Aggregates L.C. ($19,564.05).
The board also acknowledged short-form annual manure management plan updates for multiple operations, including DCI Williams #69530, Woodford Creek Farms 803 #57790, Packard Poultry #69158, RIG 2 West #69512, RIG East #69505, DCI Bennezette #70515, Leroy Finisher Farm #63819, Greene Finisher Farm #63821, Kroeze Finisher Farm #61698, and Millertime Finisher Farm #63822. No public discussion or objections were recorded on those acknowledgements.
The meeting adjourned at 9:12 a.m.; the board scheduled its next regular meeting for Aug. 13, 2024 at 9:00 a.m.
