Butler County supervisors approve routine business, table one rezoning hearing and set next meeting date

At a 9:00 a.m. meeting on Oct. 15, 2024, Butler County supervisors approved the agenda, minutes and claims, opened and tabled a public hearing for the McCandless rezoning, opened and closed the Bixby rezoning hearing, and adjourned to Oct. 22, 2024. All motions passed unanimously.
The Butler County Board of Supervisors convened Oct. 15 at 9:00 a.m. with Chairman Wayne Dralle and Supervisors Rusty Eddy and Greg Barnett present. The board unanimously approved the meeting agenda and the prior meeting minutes.
No public comment was received during the period recorded in the minutes. The board opened a public hearing for Tim and Betty McCandless to rezone roughly 17.16 acres from A‑1 to R‑1 for a residential subdivision; Planning & Zoning staff said the commission had additional questions, and the board voted to table that hearing until after the Planning & Zoning meeting scheduled for Oct. 24.
A separate public hearing for Eric Bixby to rezone 2.51 acres from A‑1 to C‑M for a truck and trailer repair shop was opened, and Planning & Zoning staff explained why rezoning was required. That hearing was closed and the board later adopted Ordinance Title VI, Number 36 to amend the official zoning map for the Bixby parcel.
The board approved county claims by motion and adjourned the regular meeting at 9:23 a.m., setting the next meeting for Oct. 22, 2024 at 9:00 a.m. All recorded motions in the minutes were passed unanimously with the votes recorded as “All ayes.”
