Committee reviews bank plan extension, parking-rent request for WERT lot and provides WERT-project update

The Committee reviewed a Jan. 30, 2026 request from Ephrata National Bank for a time extension to record its Final Lot Consolidation and Land Development Plan because of outstanding plan-review comments. The Committee will recommend Borough Council approve a time extension to record the plan through May 29, 2026 and authorize the Borough Manager to execute the time-extension letter.
Property owner Lin Sensenig, owner of the property at 10 Parkview Heights Road that includes the WERT parking lot leased by the Borough for trail-user parking, told the Committee he faces recurring maintenance costs from property damage by motorists using the lot. Mr. Sensenig requested that the Borough pay a nominal monthly rent to offset his costs while seeking a reasonable solution for both parties. The Committee scheduled further discussion of the matter for its March 23, 2026 meeting.
Separately, Councilperson Buohl inquired about the WERT extension project and the Committee provided a status update; the report does not provide further detail on the status update.
