The tourism commission’s April balance noted $54,320.90 and ARPA Tranche II remaining funds of $11,081.87 (of which $3,331.87 remained earmarked for marketing obligations through December 31, 2024).
After questions from magistrates about budget handling, the court released the $10,000. The court then appointed Vicki Yates‑Glisson to the hotel category on a motion by Esq. Cotton, seconded by Esq. Eldridge, carried by voice vote; the appointment requires city approval where noted in commission practice.
The tourism minutes attached to the court record list purchase quotes for advertising and promotional items and discussion of possible partnership with the Taylorsville/Spencer County Chamber of Commerce for fall events.
