Spencer County raises EMS base pay, approves new hires for 12‑hour unit

EMS presenter Chris Limpp recommended restoring a $3 step differential between provider levels and proposed base annual/ hourly rates: EMT Basic $15.70 (annualized $52,061.20 in the packet), Advanced EMT $17.20 ($57,035.20), and Paramedic $18.70 ($62,009.20). Limpp said the change would restore the prior step differential and help keep local pay more in line with neighboring counties. The Court voted to adopt the proposed base pay rates.
The Court also approved hiring and status changes including converting employees and adding staff for the new 12‑hour unit. The hires recorded in the minutes included named individuals and the pay rates listed in the packet (for example, full‑time EMTs for the 12‑hour unit at $18.62/hr were included in the hiring list). All personnel actions were approved by voice vote.
