The Spencer County Fiscal Court on July 15 approved rezoning of a 15.07-acre parcel at 4167 Taylorsville Road from R‑1 (residential) to AG‑1 (agricultural).
Julie Sweazy, administrator for the Taylorsville‑Spencer County Joint Planning & Zoning Commission, presented the Planning Commission’s findings supporting the change. On a motion by Esq. Cotton, seconded by Esq. Eldridge, the Court voted unanimously to adopt the ordinance; Clerk Lynn Hesselbrock attested the action and Judge Scott Travis signed it into the record.
The motion followed a second reading and the record shows the Court approved the rezoning “based on the findings of fact and the recommendation of the Planning Commission.” The rezoning ordinance will be filed as part of the Fiscal Court’s minutes. Shawn and Samantha Clifford were listed in the record as the property owners requesting the change.
No public comments opposing the rezoning were recorded in the meeting minutes. The Court noted other minute items from the meeting will be finalized and that post‑executive‑session minutes taken by the County Attorney were not yet available for review.
