The Spencer County Fiscal Court on Aug. 19 voted to adopt three zoning ordinances recommended by the county planning commission, approving land‑use changes for three properties in separate motions.
Julie Sweazy presented the planning commission recommendations. By unanimous voice vote the court approved: Nancy O. Lynn’s application to rezone a 5.129‑acre tract on Snider Road from AG‑1 (agricultural) to AG‑2 (agricultural); Linda Gail Denzik’s application to rezone a 5.066‑acre tract on Taylorsville Road from AG‑1 to AG‑2; and Chris & Kim Graves’ application to rezone a 2.0011‑acre Tract #1 Florence Division on Wilsonville Road from R‑1 (residential) to R‑3 (residential), with a binding element limiting the Graves tract to a single residence.
Each motion was moved and seconded by magistrates and recorded as passing with "all members of the court present voting 'Aye'" by voice vote. Two other rezoning proposals were given first readings and scheduled for second reading and potential adoption at the Sept. 4 Fiscal Court meeting.
Court members did not request additional conditions beyond the planning commission findings except for the Graves property, where the binding element limiting development to one residence was included in the approval.
The court’s action updates the county zoning map for the listed parcels and follows normal planning‑commission procedures for public notice and hearings. The ordinances will be effective after the required administrative steps and publication.
