County Judge/Executive John Sims Jr. informed the Fiscal Court that Spectrum Communications has been awarded the county’s broadband expansion project. Based on that notice, the court voted unanimously to rescind any actions to pursue a separate broadband feasibility study or to seek grant funding for broadband expansion.
Sims presented the recommendation and the court approved it without recorded dissent. The decision means the county will not continue parallel feasibility work where a vendor award already exists; the Judge/Executive’s office will report any further developments to the Fiscal Court as needed.
