Fiscal Court approves routine reappointments, agreements and project adjustments

Fleming County Fiscal Court approved a series of routine administrative and consent items at its Feb. 13 meeting.
The court reappointed Lynda Skaggs to the Board of Health (term through Dec. 31, 2026), reappointed Steve Hurd to the Ambulance District Board (through Feb. 12, 2026), and accepted recommendations to reappoint Tony Workman and Gary Shannon to the Fox Valley Recreation Park Board (through Feb. 17, 2027). The court also voted to retract a Dec. 2023 appointment of Mark Smith to the Board of Health because the minutes indicate that appointment was not theirs to make.
Other unanimous approvals included renewal of the Lewis County Animal Shelter agreement on the same terms; amendment of an Interlocal Agreement with the City of Flemingsburg to align fund distribution with the fiscal year and add an auto-renewal clause; approval of a fire-extinguisher inspection agreement with Koorsen; approval of claims and vendor payments including $1,520 for a court-ordered indigent cremation; a $7,611.71 credit change order for the Senior Center Project (Change Order Four) with a related $720 progress-pay grant adjustment for Momentum; and a two-year lease renewal with Fish and Wildlife for the Captain’s office at the courthouse.
Why it matters: These actions maintain continuity of local boards and services, authorize facility and maintenance contracts, and adjust capital-project finances. The amendment to the Interlocal Agreement changes fund-distribution timing and adds an automatic-renewal provision, which could affect intergovernmental financial flows.
