The Cheatham County Legislative Body on Sept. 16 approved several capital and records projects intended to update county archives and a convenience center building.
The Capital Improvements Committee recommended and the commission approved $5,657.00 to install an outside entrance door for the County Archives and $6,349.00 for microfilm scanning services; both votes were 12–0 on roll-call (Resolutions 18 and 19). The commission also approved remodeling work at the convenience center on Old Clarksville Pike by TJ Construction for $8,700.00 (Resolution 20).
The County Public Records Commission adopted a copy fee schedule for the Cheatham County Archives by voice vote (Resolution 21). Calendar Rules & Nominating debated an amendment to section 8 of the resolution establishing the County Archives but deferred that amendment until the next commission meeting by roll-call vote 8–4 (Resolution 22).
The minutes list funding amounts and the approving votes but do not include detailed procurement contracts or timelines; the Capital Improvements Committee and department staff will handle implementation and contracting.
