Commission authorizes Industrial Development Board to negotiate PILOT for GP’s Hotel

Cheatham County commissioners voted unanimously to authorize the Industrial Development Board to negotiate and accept payment in lieu of ad valorem taxes (PILOT) with respect to D&S Hospitality Ashland City, GP’s Hotel.
Audit Committee Chairman Zack Clayton presented committee materials earlier in the meeting; Industrial Development Board representatives reported that they had met and recommended the resolution. Commissioner Gary Binkley moved the resolution and David Anderson seconded; the roll-call vote was 12–0.
Economic and Community Development staff later noted the county continues to receive requests for information from prospective businesses but said suitable sites remain limited. The authorization recorded as Resolution 4 allows the Industrial Development Board to proceed with negotiating tax-equivalent arrangements with the hotel developer.
