Cheatham County approves mayor’s package including TennCare ambulance reimbursement resolution and two board confirmations

Cheatham County commissioners approved a package of mayoral items on Jan. 27, 2020, by roll call vote (11 Yes, 0 No, 1 Absent).
County Mayor Kerry McCarver presented multiple consent and signature items. The commission voted to request a historical marker in Henrietta be placed through the Tennessee General Assembly process, accepted the county’s ADA Transition Plan, authorized the mayor’s signature on an agreement between the Tennessee Department of Health and Cheatham County, and approved signature authority for computer grant funds for the Election Office.
The commission also approved a resolution encouraging support of state legislation that would direct TennCare to reimburse ground ambulance providers at a rate no less than the current Medicare fee schedule, and urged the addition of funding to the 2020–2021 state budget to reflect that reimbursement level. Commissioners approved an amendment to the county travel policy as part of the package.
As part of the mayor’s confirmations, the body confirmed Jim Dillingham to the Water/Wastewater Board (to replace Jerry Hamlin) for a term beginning Jan. 1, 2016 and ending Dec. 31, 2020, and confirmed Don Cochran to the Port Authority (to replace Mary Brink) for a term beginning Jan. 1, 2019 and ending Dec. 31, 2021. Those confirmations were recorded as part of the roll-call approval.
