Sevier County OKs purchase of warehouse to house EMA and emergency operations center using ARPA funds

Ronnie Whaley described the parcel and the building the county plans to renovate, saying the warehouse would be repurposed to centralize EMA staff and the EOC. "7,000 sq ft warehouse sitting on the property is planned to be renovated using Federal ARPA funds, and will house the EMA personnel as well as the EOC," Whaley said during the meeting.
The commission did not provide detailed renovation cost estimates in the discussion recorded in the minutes. The purchase was brought as Resolution 2023-03-03 and approved on a roll call vote.
