Vice Mayor Bryan McCarter told the committee the previously proposed site is now sold and distributed a map for the new parcel. He described existing structures that county staff could remodel or demolish and said Sevier County staff had discussed using part of the land with Emergency Medical Services Director Rick Valentine and the Sevier County Highway Department for their operations.
McCarter noted the parcel lies within the City of Pigeon Forge municipal limits and therefore would require approval by the City of Pigeon Forge before the county could proceed with purchase or use. When Commissioner Kent Woods asked what the direction for buying the land would be, McCarter replied that the decision is up to the full commission. No formal vote on the Pigeon Forge parcel was recorded in the transcript.
