Loudon County Commission approves 2024–25 employee health plan, multiple appropriations and grant application

Commissioner Bill Stitterfield called the meeting to order and a quorum was confirmed. The commission first adopted the June 3 agenda by voice vote after a motion by Commissioner Whitfield and a second by Commissioner Randolph.
The commission approved the minutes of a prior meeting with edits after a motion by Commissioner Svitiver and a second by Commissioner Quillen.
On the employee benefits item, county staff presented a recommendation for the 2024'25 employee health-insurance plan. "A recommendation to approve the employee health insurance for 2024'25 was presented," the minutes state. Commissioner Whitfield moved to approve the recommendation; Commissioner Randolph seconded and a roll-call vote carried the motion.
Erin Price, the director of accounts and budgets, presented several budget adjustments, appropriations and formal resolutions affecting multiple funds, including the county general fund, highway fund and various school funds. The commission approved those recommendations on roll-call votes after motions and seconds were recorded.
The commission also approved a resolution to submit a grant application for a project described in the minutes as Riley Drive / Hwy 70. The minutes record that the resolution includes matching contributions from county funds; the commission approved the application by roll-call vote with Commissioner Bill Stitterfield recorded as voting no on that item.
A separate motion authorized repairs to be funded from the county's capital projects account; the minutes list an estimated cost for that work. The commission approved that recommendation on a roll-call vote.
