The Loudon County Commission elected a commissioner as commission chair for the Sept. 2024–Aug. 2025 term and chose Bill Satterfield as chair pro tempore (vice-chair) in voice votes during its Sept. 3 meeting at the Courthouse Annex Building.
The actions followed nominations from the floor and a call for other nominations. The commission then moved the meeting leadership to the new chair. The mayor read the meeting attendance and invocation precedents before commissioners adopted the meeting agenda and accepted minutes from the Aug. 5, 2024 meeting by voice vote.
After leadership was established, the mayor read a list of boards and committees and the proposed rosters. The commission moved to accept the lists as presented; the motion passed on a voice vote. The lists included appointments and committee assignments for standing county boards and ad hoc committees; the minutes record the named bodies and nominees in the board-and-committee section of the record.
The meeting then proceeded to other business, including public comment and multiple agenda items on zoning, budget and personnel.
The commission adjourned at approximately 8:30 p.m.
