Committee recommends 16 notary applications be sent to full commission; packet includes certificate naming 16 notaries
Summary

At its Jan. 4 meeting the Franklin County Legislative Committee voted unanimously to recommend that 16 notary applications be sent to the full Board of Commissioners for approval.
Commissioner Eddie Clark made the motion and Commissioner David Eldridge seconded; the motion was recorded as passing with "all ayes" in the committee minutes. The committee's action on Jan. 4 was a recommendation to the full commission rather than a final appointment.
The packet also includes a separate Certificate of Election of Notaries Public that lists 16 individuals by name, address and phone number and states that they were elected to the office of notary public during the January 16, 2018 meeting of the governing body. The certificate is presented as a document certified by the County Clerk and contains the names and contact information provided for each listed individual.
The minutes do not record public comment or any dissent on the recommendation to forward the notary applications. The committee adjourned after completing business for the evening.
