The measures affect land use, public safety and county finances: commissioners rezoned 5.25 acres in Tax Map 101 from A-1 (Agricultural) to C-2 (Commercial) at the request of Ms. Paula Eleazar; authorized purchase of 704 Highway 70 E (Map 111A, Group H, Parcel 002.00), about 2.90 acres, for $850,000 to be developed into a health department site; approved a $77,000 estimated purchase of body cameras and tasers for Justice Center sheriff staff and amended Fund 101 to cover that cost; and approved both a county funding agreement to acquire P25-compliant radios (estimated county cost $2,872,539.02, to be paid over five years) and issuance of $3,986,000 in 911 revenue bonds to finance radios, consoles and related equipment.
