Claiborne County reallocates $142,168 in state reimbursements to sheriff's medical and supply lines

The Claiborne County Commission on April 18 approved Res. 2022-066 to record $142,168 in state reimbursements for emergency hospital care of state prisoners and to allocate the funds to sheriff's workhouse medical expense lines.
Under the resolution the county recorded $142,168 in revenue to account 101-46870 (Emergency Hospital Prisoners). The commission moved $100,000 into the workhouse medical and dental services line (101-54220-340) and $42,168 into the workhouse drug and medical supplies line (101-54220-413). The resolution passed by roll call vote 21-0.
Sponsors said the reimbursement was received from the State of Tennessee covering prisoner medical treatment and that the appropriation aligns accounting with the expenditures incurred by the Sheriff's Department. The County Clerk will update budget records to reflect the revenue and expense transfers.
