Bland County supervisors approve consent agenda, school requisition and waive event permit fees

The Bland County Board of Supervisors approved a multi-item consent agenda and several county administrative actions at its Sept. 24 meeting in Bland, Virginia.
By roll call the board approved minutes from Aug. 8 and Aug. 27; payroll issued Aug. 30 ($160,986.51) and Sept. 16 ($146,108.65); vendor bills for July ($10,891.62), August ($108,368.61) and September ($261,697.63); and departmental reports from the Treasurer, Sheriff’s Office, Animal Control, Building Official, Clerk’s Office, Zoning, and the E911 Coordinator. The motion also appropriated $15,794.22 local allotment for Social Services’ July 2024 report and approved the Bland County School Board’s October 2024 requisition in the amount of $1,066,358.75.
County Administrator items included a unanimous vote to approve and waive fees for an entertainment permit for the Bland County Festival of Leaves (Oct. 12–13, 2024) and to waive a $30.60 miscellaneous permit fee for amusement devices at the Bland County Fair (permit #96-2024).
The board adopted trash bill adjustments for June–September 2024 totaling $5,291.88. All votes on the consent agenda and these administrative items were recorded as unanimous by roll call.
