Planning commission ratifies September polled items, approves agenda and minutes

At its Oct. 13 meeting the commission approved the meeting agenda, approved the Aug. 11 minutes (with one abstention), and ratified three items polled in September: Cove Creek preliminary subdivision, Frito-Lay E&S plan and the Palivec subdivision. All recorded votes were unanimous among members present.
The Tazewell County Planning Commission on Oct. 13 approved routine procedural items and ratified three actions previously polled by staff in September.
The commission approved the meeting agenda on a 4-0 vote (Members Eddie Pauley, Maggie Asbury and Charlie Hart were absent). Member Darrell Addison moved to approve the agenda and Member Jason Herndon seconded.
The commission then approved the Aug. 11, 2022 regular meeting minutes. Member Jason Herndon moved to approve the minutes and Member Darrell Addison seconded; the motion passed 3-0 with Chairperson Ann Robinson recorded as abstaining and three members absent.
Director of County Engineering Kenneth Dunford Jr. reported staff polled the board in September by email on several items. The commission voted 4-0 to ratify the three polled items: the Cove Creek preliminary subdivision (Engineering and the legal department recommended approval), the Frito-Lay erosion and sediment control plan (Engineering and legal recommended approval), and the Palivec subdivision (Engineering and legal recommended approval). Member Robert "Bob" Moss moved to approve the Cove Creek preliminary subdivision; Member Darrell Addison supported the motion. Member Addison moved to approve the Frito-Lay E&S plan, seconded by Member Herndon. Member Jason Herndon moved to approve the Palivec subdivision, seconded by Member Moss. All three ratification motions carried 4-0.
These approvals were recorded as routine in the minutes and were all recommended by county engineering and legal staff. The minutes do not record additional conditions or fee assessments for these items.
