Bland County approves consent agenda, school requisition and slate of appointments; holds executive session

The board also appropriated $16,086.38 for the December 2024 Social Services local allotment and approved the Bland County School Board’s March 2025 requisition for $1,141,146.10.
The board approved a proclamation recognizing David E. Dillow and moved a series of appointments across local boards and authorities, including library trustees, economic development and transportation commissions, school facilities committee members and representatives to regional criminal justice and EMS councils. The minutes name appointees and term expirations where provided. Supervisor Keith Costello moved a $400 appropriation (from supervisors’ community funds) to After Prom; the motion passed unanimously.
The board later moved into executive session to discuss personnel matters under Virginia Code §2.2-3711-A(1). After reconvening, the board adopted the required certification that only announced items were discussed. The meeting recessed to March 4, 2025, at 4:30 p.m.
