Tazewell County CPMT approves minutes, financials and case funding in closed session
Summary
The CPMT unanimously approved prior minutes, several funding items (financial report, WRAP encumbrances, Safe & Stable funds) and, following a closed session, approved case funding and related expenditures; the next meeting is Jan. 23, 2023.
The Tazewell County Community Policy and Management Team approved routine business at its Dec. 19 meeting, including the Nov. 28, 2022 minutes and the November FY2023 financial report.
On separate motions, the CPMT approved the 07/01/2022–06/30/2023 encumbered WRAP funds and November FY2022–2023 Safe & Stable Funds. Motions and seconders were recorded for each item and members voted unanimously to pass the motions.
The CPMT moved into closed session on a motion by Jeff Brintle, seconded by Robin Jackson, to discuss foster-care, CPS, Cumberland, court services, school cases and funding for those cases. The meeting certified the closed session in accordance with the Virginia Freedom of Information Act; the certification recorded Ayes 7, Nays 0, Absents 3. Following closed session, the CPMT approved the funding requests discussed (motion by Dwayne Sturgill, seconded by Jeff Brintle).
Members discussed administrative questions about travel and lodging reimbursement for case managers visiting clients placed in out-of-town residential facilities; Chair Gates-Addison noted a typical case coordination fee of $500, and staff indicated these expenses are primarily covered from local tax dollars and have been staffed to CSA for approval where applicable.
The meeting adjourned at 10:54 a.m.; the next CPMT meeting is scheduled for Jan. 23, 2023 at 10:00 a.m.
