CPMT unanimously approves minutes, financials and closed-session case funding
Summary
At its June 26, 2023 meeting the Tazewell County CPMT approved prior minutes, the May 2023 financial report, Safe & Stable funds for May FY2022-23 and, following a closed session, funding for YR 2023 and YR 2024 cases; closed-session certification cited Virginia Code §§2.2-3711 and 2.2-3712.
The Tazewell County Community Policy and Management Team unanimously approved several routine items and, after a closed session, approved case funding for the current and next fiscal year.
Jeff Brintle moved to approve the May 22, 2023 CPMT minutes; Melinda Smith seconded and the motion passed unanimously. Dwayne Sturgill moved to approve the May 2023 Financial Report; Shanna Plaster seconded and the motion passed unanimously. Robin Jackson moved to approve the May FY2022-2023 Safe & Stable Funds; Melinda Smith seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
Later the CPMT voted to enter closed session to discuss cases involving Foster Care, Child Protective Services, Cumberland, Court Services and Tazewell County Schools and related funding. The CPMT certified the closed meeting in accordance with the Code of Virginia (§§2.2-3711 and 2.2-3712) and recorded a 7–0 roll-call vote with three members absent. After the closed session, motions to approve YR 2023 and YR 2024 Foster Care, CPS, Cumberland, Court Services and Tazewell County School cases and associated funding were moved, seconded and approved by the attending members.
The meeting adjourned at 12:05 p.m.; the next scheduled CPMT meeting is July 24, 2023 at 10:00 a.m.
