Lunenburg County board schedules L&A testing, discusses EPB training and cybersecurity ahead of November election

At its Sept. 7 meeting the Lunenburg County Electoral Board set Logic and Accuracy (L&A) testing dates for Sept. 15 and Sept. 22, reviewed electronic poll-book training plans and discussed cybersecurity reporting and even-party staffing; the board also canceled its October monthly meeting because of training and early voting activities.
The Lunenburg County Electoral Board on Sept. 7 recorded several operational steps to prepare for the Nov. 2021 General Election, including scheduling Logic and Accuracy (L&A) testing for county voting machines and discussing electronic poll-book (EPB) training and cybersecurity reporting.
The General Registrar reported that programming materials for the voting machines had been received from the contractor and set L&A testing for the CAP machine at 9:30 a.m. on Sept. 15 and for the remaining machines at 9:30 a.m. on Sept. 22; the Registrar said parties will be notified of the time and place for the testing. Board members held an extended discussion about EPB training and usage for the election, and there was a short discussion about cybersecurity reporting and the need to ensure even party distribution of election officials at each polling place.
Because of numerous training activities and early voting in October, the board decided there would be no regular monthly meeting that month. The Sept. 7 minutes conclude with adjournment at 4:45 p.m.; minutes list Donna Dagner as chairman, LaVater Brown as vice chairman and Oliver Wright as secretary.
