Board approves SLFRF allocations, VDH agreement and consent warrants totaling $680,622

The Lunenburg County Board of Supervisors approved a resolution on Jan. 9 obligating remaining State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds (SLFRF) and earmarking those funds for three county priorities.
Administrator Tracy M. Gee told the board the SLFRF funds had to be obligated by Dec. 31, 2024 and spent on obligations by Dec. 31, 2026. The proposed allocations were: $152,449.52 for the remaining VATI broadband grant match; $143,884.52 for the District Court Restroom Project; and $100,000 dedicated to EMS staffing, with any contingency from the restroom project to be applied to EMS staffing. The board voted unanimously to approve the resolution.
Separately, the board approved the annual agreement with the Virginia Department of Health for Lunenburg Health Department services in the amount of $85,076 after Administrator Gee noted the requested amount was under budget and did not require additional appropriation. The consent agenda also included the minutes from Dec. 12, 2024 and the Treasurer’s November 2024 reports; the meeting record lists payroll, payroll taxes, ACH payroll payments and accounts payable for December 2024 totaling $680,622.97.
The board’s approvals commit county resources to broadband and courthouse infrastructure and set aside funds to support EMS staffing as outlined in the resolution.
