Jackson said the contracted plan covers the 2025–2030 period and explained the statutory framework for implementing the plan.
A public commenter, Dillon Taylor of Energy Right VA, spoke in support, saying the plan “provides growth for local businesses” and offering his company as a resource for implementation. After public comment closed, the Planning Commission voted unanimously to recommend approval; the Board of Supervisors then approved the plan by roll-call vote with all supervisors voting yes.
The plan now serves as the joint guiding document for future land-use, economic development and infrastructure priorities in Lunenburg County and the towns of Kenbridge and Victoria for the 2025–2030 planning cycle. Officials said the plan meets the minimum five-year update requirement and will guide subsequent zoning and capital investment discussions.
The Board did not attach any conditional amendments to the approval during Thursday’s session.
