At the May 8 meeting Administrator Tracy M. Gee reported the Finance Committee reviewed a proposed FY2025–2026 budget that relies on approximately $1.44 million of reserve funds to balance rising expenses. Gee recommended advertising a public hearing at the June meeting with possible adoption after that hearing.
Supervisor T. Wayne Hoover thanked administration and the School Finance Department for work that allowed the county to maintain the same tax rate for another year. The Board voted to advertise the public hearing on the proposed budget for the June meeting; supplemental appropriations from the schools were noted as forthcoming at the next meeting.
