Lunenburg Board adopts VDOT 2025–2031 secondary roads plan; $576,000 earmarked for 2031

The Lunenburg County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved VDOT’s Secondary Six‑Year Plan for 2025–2031 following a public hearing at its May 8 regular meeting.
Kevin Smith, Assistant Residency Administrator for VDOT, told the Board the Transportation Committee reviewed candidate roads and recommended adding portions of Doswell Town Road, Underwood Road and St. Johns Church Road to the plan for 2031. He reported approximately $576,000 would be available for 2031 under the plan.
There were no public comments during the hearing. After a motion to accept the plan, the Board approved a resolution adopting the Secondary Six‑Year Plan and the associated budget and construction plan for secondary roads covering 2025–2031.
